Hey there! I'm Kristin, the owner of It’s Your Birth Day doula. Becoming a doula has been a lifelong dream sparked by witnessing my first birth at the age of twelve. It took having my children to realize that the control I desired over my birthing experiences was missing. Those moments left me wishing I had asserted myself and spoken up for what I wanted. The day you give birth is unique and unforgettable, and my experiences fueled my determination to empower other women in their birthing journeys.
As your doula, I'm here to support what matters to you during childbirth, ensuring you have a voice in every decision on this monumental day. I recognize that plans can change during labor, and tough decisions may arise, but that doesn't mean you can't still have an empowering birth experience and feel engaged in the process. I truly understand why this day is paramount to you.
In 2013, I underwent training as a Birth Doula with Birth Arts International, and in 2022, I earned certification as a VBAC doula through The VBAC Link. My specialization lies in supporting families aiming for a vaginal birth after one or more cesarean births. I'm committed to guiding you through the intricacies of childbirth, ensuring your preferences are honored, and providing support for an empowering birthing experience. I am a Lactation Counselor and can support you in your lactation journey. I am also a Childbirth Educator and will begin offering Childbirth Education classes!
Meet Kaitlin, a compassionate doula with an unwavering passion for accompanying mothers on their remarkable childbirth journeys. Motivated by her own unique birthing experiences, Kaitlin is dedicated to aiding families in achieving their desired VBACs and helping them create the birth stories they envision.
Kaitlin's initial encounter with motherhood came in January 2021, during the height of the pandemic, as she welcomed her son Thomas. Despite facing challenges and interventions that led to a traumatic c-section, Kaitlin's determination was ignited to explore the realm of successful VBACs. Engaging deeply in research, she embarked on her own VBAC journey, supported by doula Kristin, resulting in the beautiful arrival of her daughter Maisey in December 2022 - an experience that radiated redemption and humility.
Beside her doula aspirations, Kaitlin holds a Master's degree in Communication and boasts a professional history in Public Relations and Event Planning, garnered during her tenure at a nonprofit organization. Since marrying her beloved husband Andrew in 2018, Kaitlin's commitment to elevating the birthing process for all expectant mothers has only grown stronger.
Haley has been working with children and families for over ten years,as a nanny and an educator. She builds strong relationships not only with the children, but with their parents as well. When she had her first birth, and a wonderful experience with one of our doulas, she realized that that relationship could start even earlier than she had imagined. Haley strives to give every member of the family the support they need during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
Haley is certified for birth and postpartum through Birth and Beyond Resources, and hopes to continue helping families by becoming a sleep consultant in the near future. Her training in early childhood education gives her a deeper understanding of what older siblings may be feeling during a new brother or sister's arrival, and her experience as a parent and a doula helps her know what parents might need, even when they don’t know how to ask for it.
Haley is an asset to any postpartum care team, but especially one where a family is growing and hoping to make sure their existing children are ready for the arrival of the newest bundle of joy.
